District Kadhi Convenes Half Day Media Sensitization Training For County Media Officers
The Luwero District Kadhi Sheikh Ramadhan Mulindwa in collaboration with the Public Relations Office of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council has held a half day Media Training session for Twale ( County) Media Officers in the district. Speaking at the opening of the training, the UMSC Spokesperson, Zziwa Ashiraf extended his appreciation to the District Kadhi for arranging such training activities, saying it is timely and appropriate.
The training began shortly after friday prayers held at District Mosque. In his sermon, Sheikh Mulindwa reminded the faithfuls to strive to live righteously and avoid perverted acts which he described as being the main source of poverty.
Mr. Zziwa reminded the participants of their roles of delivering timely and accurate information on the state of affairs at UMSC National Headquarters at Old Kampala to Muslims in their respective areas.
“You need to get acquainted with the historical background of UMSC, its Constitution and policies because they are the source of your reference,” Zziwa said. Adding that “As media personnel you need to read news dailies, watch & listen to television and Radio Broadcasts respectively”.
He noted that Muslim need information on the abundant opportunities in education and health such as the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination exercise and development.
In his speech, Sheikh Mulindwa pledged to offer the Muslim District Media team support to ease their work.
The participants were drawn from Luwero central, Kikyusa, Bukalasa, Kamira, Bamunanika, Wobulenzi and Butuntumula Twales( Counties).
