The District Kadhi Receives Commissioner Directorate of Ethics and Integrity.
The District Kadhi Sheikh Ramadhan Mulindwa has received a delegation from the Office of the President, Directorate of Ethics and Integrity for the second time.
The team is focusing on bringing on board Faith Organizations, Religious Leaders to work hand in hand with the Government. The Government has noticed increased responsibility on fighting corruption and installing morals in the community, This therefore brings on board the Faith Organizations on board for a collective responsibility to fight the escalating moral decay and corruption in the Country.
The Team informed District Kadhi that many Government policies in different ministries have been not adhered too which has become a big challenge, Key policies and regulations needs serious intervention of faith groups if the Government is to succeed.
The District Kadhi informed his guests that As Religious Leaders we have always carried out the sensitization of Government programs at a ZERO cost, Our voices have been heard from all corners but the Government has not appreciated our efforts, We hear that every activity done by Government officials they are catered for, given transport allowances, Sitting allowances, lunch, fuel almost every things is paid.
“We believe its our Responsibility but at-least let the Government provide transport means that can help us reach our people at the ground for Government programs sensitization, Address Government programs, Data Collection and many more” Sheikh Mulindwa Explained.
Kadhi promised the team that as Faith Organizations we are ready and have been always working alongside the Government, We have our structures from up to the grassroots under which awareness of Development government programs can pass through “Let Emyooga, OWC, PDM” programs pass through each faith Organization for effectiveness” otherwise these programs will again die like many community development programs have died on the hands of selfish and greedy Groups.
Mr. Moses thanked the District Kadhi and his team for the warm welcome and for supporting Government programs aimed at transforming the community Livelihood, He asked Religious Leaders to be accountable to the people they lead, Be self accounting “The Money people gives is given to God, But God doesn’t Live here and Money is used here, Be accountable” Mr Moses noted.
The Team also came with a Government data collection sheets to be distributed at Mosques to collect data concerning the number of Muslim community in Luwero, All Faith Organizations have been given the same sheets also to collect their data, “For effective planning you should have data in place as Government is planning to entrust religious Leaders with its Community programs and information dissemination to the grassroots.
The Delegation was lead by Commissioner Moses President office, Mrs Muwaya Diana K, Mrs Ruth Divine Namugambe and Brother Emmanuel Odongkara. The District Kadhi team was Comprised of County Sheikhs from Luwero Kasana, Bamunanika, Butuntumula among others.
